In the middle of Szentháromság tér. The square is at the highest point of Castle Hill.
The 14-meter-high monument was erected between 1710 and 1713 by the inhabitans of Buda to fend off another plauge epidemic. There was no square here in the Middle Ages, only a street less than 10 meters wide.
